Check its approximate width, height, and material. Look for visible connections to a deck, fence, or utility; do not disturb a suspected electrical connection. A qualified trade may need to make the area safe first.
Access and scope
Clarify whether the requested work includes the base, flooring, steps, and loose contents. An accurate quote depends on that boundary and on access for loading.
Quick checklist
- Photograph all sides and connected parts.
- Measure the narrowest opening on the way out.
